RAIPUR, June 20: “Miyazaki,” the world’s most expensive mango, was recently showcased at a Mango Festival organized in Raipur, Chhattisgarh.
Priced at Rs 1.82 lakh in the international market, this Japanese delicacy captivated attendees. The festival, held from June 17 to 19, featured the renowned ‘Miyazaki’ mango, which is valued at Rs 2.70 lakh per kilogram, according to the organizers.
Retired General Manager of Coal India, RP Gupta, who exhibited the mangoes at the festival, highlighted the meticulous care involved in growing this prized fruit.
The mango is often traded as a premium corporate gift, which contributes to its elevated price compared to regular mangoes.
Furthermore, an interesting aspect of the “Miyazaki” mango is that the portion of the fruit exposed to sunlight possesses a distinct flavor from the shaded part.
Gupta emphasized that the “Miyazaki” mango weighs approximately 639 grams and is exclusively cultivated in Japan. Its limited availability and exceptional taste make it a highly sought-after fruit among mango enthusiasts and connoisseurs worldwide.
