JAMMU, Apr 3: A one-day District Level Workshop cum Awareness Programme on AWAAS Plus 2.0 under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G) was organized today at Panchayat Bhawan, Rail Head Complex, Jammu. The event aimed to provide valuable insights into the features, benefits, and implementation strategies of awaas Plus 2.0 while raising awareness about its objectives.
At the inauguration, Director of Rural Development Department (RDD), Jammu, Mohd Mumtaz Ali, emphasized the importance of completing the registration process under AWAAS plus 2.0 by April 30, 2025. He acknowledged the dedicated efforts of the officers and officials of the Rural Development Department, who successfully registered 13,426 beneficiaries under the scheme to date.
Assistant Commissioner Development (ACD), Jammu, Dr Vikas Sharma, elaborated on the program’s targets and achievements for District Jammu. He highlighted that the Government had extended the registration deadline from March 31, 2025, to April 30, 2025, to ensure that no eligible beneficiary was left unregistered. Block Development Officers and registered surveyors have been directed to expedite the survey and registration process.
During the event, Block Development Officers (BDOs) from R S Pura, Maira Mandrian and Satwari presented PowerPoint presentations showcasing success stories, best practices, and progress achieved under PMAY-G in District Jammu. They provided a detailed overview of the scheme’s implementation from 2016 to the present, highlighting its impact on rural housing development.
The workshop was attended by BDOs, Panchayat Inspectors of district Jammu and registered surveyors under AWAAS Plus. Additionally, field functionaries and PMAY-G operators participated in discussions to enhance the effectiveness of the scheme’s implementation.
The program served as a significant platform for assessing the progress of AWAAS Plus 2.0, sharing success stories, and ensuring the timely registration of beneficiaries, reinforcing the Government’s commitment to providing housing for all under PMAY-G.
