JAMMU, Nov 26: Five- day national workshop on Reproductive Biology for Biodiversity Conservation concluded today at Department of Botany, University of Jammu.
This workshop, jointly organized by Department of Botany University of Jammu and Centre for Biodiversity Studies, BGSB University, Rajouri,  was attended by more than 50 participants from different parts of the country and from different affiliated colleges and the Higher Secondary Schools of the State.
Chief guest of the function Prof  I A  Hamal, VC BGSB University, deliberated upon the role of organizing such workshops. Prof  K R Shivanna, a renowned Pollination Biologist of the country and guest of honour for the function deliberated upon the need of studies on the seedling recruitment for effective conservation strategies.
Prof  Namrata Sharma  deliberated upon the proceedings of the workshop. Prof Anima Langer, Dean Life Sciences Jammu University, Prof  Geeta Sumbali Head Department of Botany Jammu University and Prof  A K Koul Dean Academic Affairs BGSB University also spoke on the occasion.
Vote of thanks was presented by Dr  Sikander Pal Assistant Professor Department of Botany. On this occasion, a documentary emphasizing the importance of conserving pollinators was also shown. The same was prepared by Dr Sanjay Bhatia of Department of Zoology, University of Jammu.
