Workshop on ‘Industrial Automation Technology’ concludes

JAMMU, Nov 22: Three days workshop on ‘Industrial Automation Technology’, organized by Department of Electrical Engineering, Government College of Engineering and Technology (GCET) Chak Bhalwal in twinning with UIET, Chandigarh under TEQIP III programme, concluded today.
The workshop was conducted under the overall supervision of Dr Sameru Sharma, Principal GCET.
The aim of the workshop was to create awareness amongst the engineering students regarding the present trends in automation sector.
In his inaugural speech, Rajiv Kumar Bali, Head Electrical Engineering Department stressed upon the need of automation in industries in the prevailing technical and digital global scenario.
Dr Gaurav Sapra, Assistant Professor, UIET Chandigarh delivered an expert talk on ‘PLC Controlled by HMI’ and ‘External Tags and Connections’, emphasizing the recent technological developments in the associated field.
Industrial experts from BN HI Tech Machines Private Limited Haryana namely Dheeraj Sharma, Saurabh Bhatnagar, Rohit Thakur and Aditi Diwan conducted hands on session on PLC and HMI to provide a broad spectrum of career opportunities to the Electrical Engineering students in the field of Industrial Automation.
The participants were presented with certificates.
In the end, the vote of thanks was given by Sat Dev, Associate Professor, Electrical Engineering Department.
