JAMMU, Oct 12: District Police Jammu conducted one day workshop with regard to “Gender Sensitization and Crime against Women” along with one stop centre resource persons Shruti Uppal and Girija Sharma.
The workshop was inaugurated by SSP Jammu Shridhar Patil who emphasized upon the need for the police officers and officials to be aware and sensitive while dealing with cases of crime against women and try to look at the situation objectively rising above the patriarchal social norms.
He said that domestic violence and dowry cases are a matter of concern for all of us. He stressed upon the officers and officials to take due care and investigate professionally the details of these cases so that desired results are achieved. He also said that unfortunately such crimes are still happening in the society and he is working on to organize more such events to end this menace of crime against women.
The officers who attended the workshop included PD Nitya, SP City North Jammu, Adil Hamid, SP Headquarters, Swati Sharma DySP Headquarters Jammu, Hamid Chowdhary DySP DAR Jammu, SHOs of Jammu district and officials of Women Police Station Jammu.
