LEH, June 24: In order to impart training to Statistics and Evaluation personnel of Ladakh Region, a 2-day workshop on 6th Economic Census began at district Headquarter here today. The workshop was inaugurated by Regional Joint Director, Statistics and Evaluation (Kashmir), A. H. Qadri.
In his address, Mr. Qadri highlighted the importance of economic census and stressed for finalizing the road map to launch 6th economic census, to be carried out in Leh and Kargil districts of Ladakh region. He said that main objective of the 6th economic census is to prepare frame of reference for taking follow-up surveys, preparation of directories for the development of business registers and to capture data on registered sector of the state economy.
Mr. Qadri also highlighted the role and responsibilities of various agencies and departments for timely completion of the economic census. He said that awareness campaign needs to be launched at different levels to educate the people about the merits of the economic census and get their cooperation in completing the task.
During the workshop, necessary material related to the 6th Economic Census was also distributed among the participants.
