REASI, June 24: Reserve Bank of India in association with State Bank of India conducted a financial awareness-cum-literacy programme at Aghar Jitto Mela.
This programme was focused on creating awareness among the common people about forged currency notes, credit cards, ATM, banking transactions, banking ombudsman scheme, opening of no frill accounts (Basic Saving Bank Deposit Account).
A large number of people visited the RBI’s stall and got their various queries answered.
On the occasion, printed material on financial literacy such as comic books, pamphlets etc. were distributed to the visitors.
RBI team consisting of Gopal Dass, AGM, Anil Kumar, AGM and Amarjeet K Sharma and Lalit Vijay Singh Jamwal took part in the programme actively. Lead District Manager (SBI), Reasi Rohit Mehta was also present.
An exchange counter for Rs 10, 20, 50 and 100 denomination notes and coins of Re 1, Rs 2 and Rs 10 was arranged at the stall by SBI, Jyotipuram for the public.
District Development Commissioner (DDC) Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary also visited the stall and appreciated the financial awareness programme.
SK Kandroo, Director SBI R-SETI narrated all the future employment generation programmes of the Institute among the rural masses.
Anil Kumar, AGM explained various security features of genuine currency notes to the people, while Gopal Dass, AGM motivated the people to open more and more Basic Saving Bank Deposit Accounts (no frill accounts) and also educated them about ATM, credit card facilities etc.
