SAMBA, Mar 13: District police in collaboration with Zonal unit of Narcotic Control Bureau organized two days workshop on “Drug Laws Enforcement” at District Police Lines here today.
In the workshop, 25 police officers from the rank of Assistant Sub-Inspector to Inspector of all the police stations and police posts of District Samba participated.
Anil Magotra, Superintendent of Police inaugurated the workshop and in his welcome address stressed that as per the directions of High Court of J&K and Police Headquarters J&K, cases registered under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act should be investigated only by those police officers and officials who are imparted training by the Narcotics Control Bureau, constituted in J&K.
The workshop has been organized for the police officers in order to fortify their skills to deal cases related to NDPS Act.
KS Chauhan, Zonal Director of Narcotics Bureau of Jammu Zone Unit briefed the police officers through power point presentation on identification and classification of narcotics drugs, NDPS Act 1985 and procedure of NDPS case and financial investigation and reward policy.
