KATHUA, May 19: With the aim to impart skills to police officers and personnel to render public service more efficiently, Kathua Police organized a workshop on Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and first aid to save precious lives of victims of cardiac arrest.
The workshop was inaugurated by SSP Kathua who while delivering inaugural address enjoined upon officers and officials to learn CPR method to save precious lives as and when required.
Ramnish Gupta Additional SP Kathua, Ravinder Singh SDPO Border, KD Bhagat DySP DAR Kathua, Harish Sharma and ADO DPO Kathua also participated in the workshop.
Dr Sanjeev Verma, Medical Superintendent District Hospital Kathua and Dr Nipun, Medical officer DH Kathua were invited as guest lecturers to aware police personnel about CPR method as first aid to save the life of any victim of cardiac arrest. The team of doctors also explained the steps to perform CPR. A team of SDRF headed by Inspector Sunil Sharma demonstrated CPR techniques to all attendees.
Besides, Kathua Police today conducted a workshop cum training program on investigation of cases for police personnel well versed in Urdu language who can be utilized as IOs for investigation of cases.
“Utilise golden hours just after the incident and solve the case with increased use of technology and people’s cooperation to improve and expedite the investigation in order to increase conviction rate”, SSP said.
In the workshop, a team of retired police officers including Retd SP Sardar Khan, Retd SI Rattan Chand, Retd SI Zaffar Ullah Khan, Retd SI Omkar Chand, Retd SI Rachhpal Singh and Retd ASI Sher Ali delivered lectures on various aspects of investigations to the trainees. They also discussed various technicalities based on their experiences and past case studies that could enhance quality investigation. The trainees raised various issues which were clarified by team of experts.

SSP Kathua assured DIG JSK range that such workshops will be conducted in future also on different aspects of policing to improve skills of investigating officers.
