JAMMU, Nov 30: The Department of CTVS, Government Medical College Jammu in collaboration with visiting faculty from SGRH conducted a day-long workshop on complex vascular interventions at Government Superspeciality Hospital (SSH) Jammu.
Surg Capt VS Bedi and Dr Ajay Yadav were the visiting faculty while local faculty present in the workshop were Dr Gurjit Singh, Dr Noor Ali, Dr Sushil Sharma, Dr Pooja, Dr Sham, Dr Mohit, Dr Vivek, Dr Bhumika, Dr Rasmeet, other faculty and residents. The workshop was aptly supported by Department of Cardiology, Cath Lab staff and anesthesia staff.
The workshop coordinator Dr Arvind Kohli said that four complex vascular cases of iliac artery aneurysm aortoiliac occlusive disease and SFA occlusion underwent endovascular procedures and in addition seven more cases of complex venous occlusion, blocked AV fistulas, AV malformations and crural vessel diseases underwent discussion and optimal treatment modalities for them were decided which were very beneficial for the needy patients
Further, opinion regarding the need for having a hybrid operation theater at Superspeciality Hospital for complex vascular procedures was emphasized keeping in view the high incidence of vascular disease in this region.
Principal GMC Jammu Dr Sunanda Raina also took note of the proceedings of the workshop.
