REASI, Nov 25: Five day workshop and documentation of traditional folk art forms organized by triple ‘A’ Performing Arts at various places of Himalayan and Sub-Himalayan regions of Jammu concluded here today.
On this occasion Surita Devi, Panch was the chief guest while Chatter Singh, Satpal, Balwant Singh, Bachider Singh, Romal Singh (retd Headmaster), Sanjay Singh, and Naseeb Singh were also present.
Other activities of art and culture, documentation of cultural events, music, dance etc were also organized on this occasion.
Expert folk artists invited in the workshop were Sanjay Singh with his Kud art form, Nisha Devi with her Gorian, Dhani Ram with his Baakh and Sunita Devi with her Swaag.
The visiting members were Rohit Kumar, Raja Aamir Khan, Sohan Lal, M.A Khan, Tabraz Khan, Mohd Rashad and Surinder Singh.
The project of trainings and documentation of traditional folk art forms was approved by Union Ministry of Culture for the year 2019-20.
These activities were meant for highlighting the importance of cultural heritage of Himalayas in J&K and generating interest among the masses about rich cultural heritage through workshop and audio visual programme of art and culture.
