Workshop for Rural Reporting held

LEH, May 3: Charkha–a Delhi based Development Communication Network in collaboration with Snow Leopard Conservancy India Trust conducted a four day writing skills development workshop for rural reporting with a focus on development issues–especially issues relevant to the empowerment of youth and women.
The four day workshop which concluded today was conducted by Mario Noronha, CEO, Charkha.
The participants identified various development issues that need to be addressed in Leh district.
Mostly the participants were from Elizir Jolden Memorial College and SECMOL and they were briefly taught the basics of journalism.
The focus of the workshop being that at the end of the workshop each participant would be able to write a feature article focusing on a particular development issue.
The participants were also taught the basics of photography by Jigmet Dadik, an accomplished photographer who is also Senior Programme Manager, Snow Leopard Conservancy India Trust.
Journalist Tsewang Rigzin, Secretary of the Press Club of Leh also interacted with the participants.
