JAMMU, Jan 14: The J&K Govt Employees, Casual Labours, Workers & Pensioners United Platform (JKGECWPUP) has urged upon the Finance Minister Haseeb Drabu to ensure time bound implementation of the announcements made in the Budget regarding regularization of casual labours/ temporary workers in time bound manner, faming wage head and enhancing daily rate of wages.
In a meeting of the Joint Platform of employees and pensioners held here today under the leadership of Mohd Gafoor Dar, S Kulwant Singh and Nazeer Ahmed Moulvi, the members suspended ongoing agitation/ strike and expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister and the Finance Minister for making announcements with regard to the implementation of 7th Pay Commission and regularization of casual labours/ daily rated/ temporary workers.
They said several issues of the employees stand addressed in the recent Budget presented in the State Legislature. They termed it as welcome step. They hoped that the Govt will fulfill its promise announced during Budget speech in the State Legislature.
They said that in view of these announcements, the agitation launched under United Platform of the employees and workers has been suspended. All the casual labours and other temporary workers will resume their duties from Monday onwards. The Joint Platform also urged upon the Govt to honour its commitment and ensure timely implementation of these announcements.
Trade unionists- Tanveer Hussain, Akhil Sharma, Rajinder Kumar, Shahid Hussain, Pardeep Singh, Subhash Chander, Bhanu Partap Singh and others also attended the meeting.
