Women’s Commission organizes awareness programme

KARGIL, Sept 8: Jammu and Kashmir Commission for Women today organized awareness programme in Kargil where its Chairperson Nayeema Ahmed Mehjoor was the chief guest.
Deputy Commissioner, Kargil Kacho Hassan Khan was guest of honour on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chairperson said that Commission has the mandate to monitors all matters relating to constitutional and legal safeguard provided for women. She expressed satisfaction for conduct of awareness programme and called for organizing such more awareness programmes in future to enable women and girls to know their legal rights and to understand the procedure and method of access to the legal systems. The participants raised various issues related to women during the programme.
The Deputy Commissioner has urged upon the girls to focus on their education to achieve goal in life saying that education is the total way of life.
Besides Additional Deputy Commissioner, Kargil Gulzar Hussain Changrah, Program Officer Nargis Banoo, CDPO Parveen Akhter and a large number of women including students, Asha workers and Anganwari workers were present on the occasion
The students from Government Degree College raised sanitation issue in College.
