MENDHAR, June 9: A woman was allegedly attacked with an axe by her nephew over a land dispute at Saruti village in Ari area of Mendhar.
A police spokesman said that incident took place last evening with middle aged Kaneez Begum, wife of Mohd Akram went to her nearby 2 marla land. The family had grown some vegetables there. Her nephews objected to it and claimed that land belonged to them. There was some tiff between them over this land dispute. The woman was allegedly beaten up by her relatives and then her nephew Mushtaq Ahmed, who is also Government employees (Junior Assistant in ICDS Mendhar), attacked with an axe on her head.
The woman fell down and she was rushed to hospital at Mendhar. She received 13 stitches on her head. The doctors registered MLC No. 4035 in this connection. The police claimed that an FIR is being registered against the accused persons. But no arrest was reported till late this evening.
