JAMMU, Nov 1: A woman allegedly made an abortive bid on her life by setting herself ablaze at her residence in Channi area of city outskirts.
According to a police spokesperson, the woman identified as Manmeet Kour (40) wife of Sri Singh, a resident of Channi Himmat, in an attempt to end her life set herself on fire by pouring kerosene oil on her body at her residence late last night.
Noticing flames, the family members came to her rescue but till then the lady was burn more than half. In serious condition, the woman was shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, from where later she was referred to Ludhiana.
A case in this regard was registered at police station Channi and further investigations were underway, as the lady was still unfit for making any statement.
