Two day placement drive organized under Udaan

Udhampur, Nov 1: A two day Placement Camp under Udaan was organised at Udhampur jointly by District Administration, Government Degree College management and National Skill Development Corporation in which 98 graduates were interviewed and 71 selected for training and placement in various companies.
District Development Commissioner, Udhampur, Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary inaugurated the placement cum awareness camp for graduates of district and students of various degree colleges. He interacted with the representatives of visiting corporate and aspirants appearing for interviews and counseling. The DDC briefed the participants about the seriousness of Government for skill development courses and placement of youth in various sectors requiring different skills. He called for offering placements on local requirements and market demand apart from candidates moving to urban areas as well.
Dr Shahid while interacting with the aspirants and students of college called for greater participation in such placement drives for which district administration and college management has launched awareness programmes at tehsil level and also personality tests, communication skill development sessions and mock interviews are being organised. He stressed that candidates serious towards their career advancement and exploring better opportunities shall opt for placements offered.
Project Officer DRDA Dr Jagdish Mehra and Principal Govt Degree College Udhampur Prof Rakesh Bhalwal coordinated the arrangements while faculty of college and career counselling centre organised logistics. Komal from NSDC accompanied the corporate for the 2 placement camp. The management of Career Counselling Centre organised the placement drive and assisted the visiting teams of the corporate.
More than 20 corporate participated in the placement drive which included Roman Technology, Accenture, Safe Express, Sebiz Infotec, KPMG, Mount Talent Consultancy, IMS-health, Future Learning, Royal Orchid, Multicare, TNS , IL & FS, Apollo Mediskills, Surya Wires, CIPET, VISPL and Mitcon. The packages offered ranged from Rs 1.30 lakh to Rs 3.50 lakh per anum. Another placement drive has been planned to be held in February 2016 for final year students of degree colleges in Udhampur.
