RAJOURI, Oct 21: A woman was knocked to death by a Tata Mobile vehicle in Dandesar area of Sunderbani this evening.
A police spokesman said that 68-year-old Kanta Devi, wife of Sohan Lal, resident of Ward No. 7 Sunderbani had gone to meet her relatives at Dandesar and was returning from there. She was hit by a Tata Mobile vehicle No. JK02BF/7102 at Dandesar. The driver sped away from the spot after hitting the lady. The local contacted Lamberi Police Post and incharge PP SI Jitender Singh Rakwal, chased the vehicle and seized. The driver however, managed to escape.
The injured woman was shifted to Sunderbani hospital where doctors declared her as brought dead. The police registered a case against the driver and started investigation. A search for the driver was also launched.
