POONCH, May 26: A woman was knocked to death by a mini-bus at Surankote town of district Poonch this evening.
A police spokesman said that 45-year-old Iqbal Bi, wife of Mohd Hussain, resident of Faislabad village was hit by a mini-bus No. JK-12/0108 at Surankote town at around 5.30 pm today. With head injury, she was rushed to local hospital where doctors provided treatment and referred her to GMC Hospital, Jammu. The victim, however, succumbed to injuries near Bhimber Gali late this evening. The police has taken cognizance of the matter. Driver of the vehicle has been arrested. He has been identified as Mohd Farooq, son of Nazir Ahmed, resident of Surankote.
