JAMMU, Apr 8: A woman was killed today on the spot when a bike on which she was travelling was hit by a rashly driven bus in Akhnoor area of city outskirts.
According to a police spokesman, today at about 0845 hours a bus bearing Registration No JK21C- 0449, which was on its way from Jourian to Akhnoor, hit a motor cycle number JK02AL-8648 at Punnu Chowk in Akhnoor area.
In the mishap, the pillion rider namely Seema Devi (37) wife of Sushil Kumar, resident of Gurha Brahmana (Bale da Bagh) died on spot. The dead body was shifted to SDH Akhnoor and after conducting postmortem, it was handed over to her legal heirs for last rites.
In this connection, police has registered a case and seized the bus involved in the mishap while the accused driver managed to escape from the spot of crime.
