Woman killed, 12 hurt in road accident

RAMBAN, Feb 24: A woman was killed and 12 other travellers were hurt after the vehicle they were on board rolled down from the road and landed few meters down on a mountainous track.

Sources informed that the ill fated vehicle of Tata Sumo make bearing registration number JK19A-1331 was coming from Chabba and heading towards Ramban and the mishap took place at Galli Upper Neera at 10:15 am.
The deceased lady was identified as Sankesha Devi, 33, wife of Raghbeer Singh, resident of Chabba.
Immediately after the accident she along with other injured persons was shifted by cops and the locals to District Hospital Ramban where doctors declared her as brought dead.
The injured were identified as Patial Singh, 45, son of Late Amar Singh, resident of Chabb; driver of the vehicle Surjeet Singh, 28, son of Chain Singh, resident of Chabba; Chain Singh, 49, son of Krishan Lal, resident of Chabba; Santok Singh, 29, son of Janki Dass, resident of Chabba; Amar Jyoti, 24, daughter of Badri Nath, resident of Chabba; Seema Devi, 40, wife of Om Parkash, resident of Kanthi; Raghuveer Singh, 36, son of Krishan Lal, resident of Chabbaage; Raj Gopal Singh, 24, son of Kaka, resident of Ramban; Kehar Singh, 36, son of Amar Chand, resident of Palli; Rangeel Singh, 28, son of Chain Singh, resident of Chabba; Vidya Devi, 50, wife of Anchal Singh, resident of Chabba and Manika Devi, 2, daughter of Ragbir Singh, resident of Chabba.
Being critical, three of the injured persons including driver of the vehicle Surjeet Singh, Patail Singh and Rangeel Singh were referred to Government Medical College and Hospital Jammu for specialized treatment.
Police has registered a case in this regard and started investigations.
