Woman found hanging from tree

UDHAMPUR, July 14: A middle aged widow and mother of five children was found hanging from a tree in village Katti, tehsil Panchari, here last evening.
The deceased was identified as Gayatri Devi (45), widow of Omparkash, resident of village Katti. She was found hanging from a tree under mysterious circumstances.
Reports said that the deceased had come to her parental house and was on way to her residence along with her mother when she allegedly dodged the mother midway and slipped into an isolated area. Soon she was found hanging from a tree with Dupatta around her neck.
On being informed, a Police party, led by SHO Panchari, Inspector Arun Kaul rushed to the spot and shifted the dead body to nearest PHC for postmortem. Even as it was an apparent case of suicide, FIR has been registered in this connection at Panchari Police Station for further investigation.
Meanwhile, three persons were injured in two different road accidents at Bali Nallah and Majalta in District Udhampur.
According to the reports, a Scorpio bearing registration number JK02BF-8888, was on its way from Manwal to Khoon when it skidded off the road and turned turtle near Majalta resulting into injuries to two persons, who were shifted to PHC Majalata. The injured were identified as Rakesh Kumar (35) son of Badri Nath and Supriya Gupta (28), wife of Raman Gupta of Thalora Manwal.
In another road accident, a car on way from Jammu to Ramban rammed into a roadside hillock near Bali Nallah resulting into injuries to driver Pawan Deep Singh (42), son of Sawaran Singh of Jasrote, Kathua, who was shifted to District Hospital Udhampur for the treatment.
