RAMBAN, Feb 15: Banihal Police arrested a woman drug peddler and recovered 10 kilograms poppy straw from her possession.
As per police sources, during routine checking at Railway Chowk, a team from Police Station Banihal intercepted a woman pedestrian, who was moving under suspicious circumstances.
During checking, police team recovered 10 kilograms poppy straw from the possession of the woman and arrested her.
The arrested lady is identified as Amarjeet Kour, wife of Jagtar Singh of Latainwala, Kapurthala, Punjab.
A case under FIR Number 23/2022 under Section 8/20 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Banihal and investigation set into motion.
Police team led by SHO Banihal Insp Naeem-ul-Haq made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Banihal Nissar Khoja andSP Ramban Mohita Sharma.
