JAMMU, Oct 11: A young woman died of poisoning at her residence in RS Pura area of city outskirts.
The deceased has been identified as Manju (30) wife of Sunil Kumar, resident of Talya (RS Pura), a police official said. He said as per the statement of the deceased’s in-laws, she consumed rat poison after midnight of yesterday and they rushed her to CHC RS Pura but doctors there referred her to GMC Jammu, where she was declared as brought dead by the doctors.
“However, on a written complaint submitted by the father of the deceased, a case under Sections 304-B, 498-A and 120 B of IPC has been registered at police station RS Pura and further investigation initiated,” the official said, adding, after postmortem the body of the woman was handed over to her legal heirs for last rites.
