Woman dies of COVID, 117 test +ve; 104 recover

JAMMU/SRINAGAR/ LEH, Jan 21: A woman died of COVID-19 while 117 persons tested positive for the virus and 104 others recovered in Jammu and Kashmir today.
A 55-year-old woman hailing from Sector 7 in Nanak Nagar Jammu died of COVID-19 at home.
With today’s casualty, the Corona toll in Jammu region has reached 717, the highest being 368 in Jammu district followed by 64 Doda, 57 Udhampur, 55 Rajouri, 51 Kathua, 40 Samba, 24 Poonch, 22 Kishtwar, 21 Ramban and 15 in Reasi district.
Jammu region reported 42 COVID-19 positive cases today, 33 of them in Jammu district, five Udhampur, three Kathua and one in Kishtwar district. No fresh cases were reported from rest of the districts in the region.
Thirty nine persons today recovered from the virus including 22 in Jammu district, 10 Samba, five Udhampur and two in Rajouri district. No recoveries were reported from rest of the districts.
Jammu region now has 51319 Corona cases. Of them, only 387 are active as 50215 have recovered from the virus and there have been 717 casualties.
Meanwhile, 75 persons tested positive for COVID-19 in Kashmir today.
Those who tested positive include 46 from Srinagar, two Baramulla, four Budgam, eight Pulwama, four Kupwara,
three Anantnag, one Bandipora, three Ganderbal, one Kulgam and three from Shopian.
As per officials figures, 25,949 positive cases including 453 deaths and 25,217 recoveries are from Srinagar, 8,074 including 173 deaths and 7,844 recoveries are from Baramulla, 7,733 including 7,564 recoveries and 115 deaths are from Budgam, 5,686 including 5,532 recoveries and 88 deaths are from Pulwama, 5,635 including 94 deaths and 5,488 recoveries are from Kupwara, 4,861 including 4,727 recoveries and 84 deaths are from Anantnag, 4,683 cases including 4,595 and 61 deaths are from Bandipora, 4,581 including 4,468 recoveries and 46 deaths are from Ganderbal, 2,686 including 2,595 recoveries and 54 deaths are from Kulgam and 2,557 including 2,484 recoveries and 39 deaths are from Shopian.
With fresh cases the number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 72,445 including 70,514 recoveries and 1,207 deaths.
The number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 1,111 including 724 from Kashmir division.
With 104 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached 120,729 which is 97.55 percent of the total cases.
