POONCH, Aug 30: A 28-year-old woman died at her in-laws’ house under mysterious circumstances last this morning.
The deceased has been identified as Kiran Bala, wife of Sanjay Kumar, resident of village Dongus in Haveli-Poonch. Her husband Sanjay Kumar is posted in 156 Territorial battalion of the Army. His unit is located in Rajouri area. Sanjay had gone to his home on Raksha Bandhan on leave hardly two days back.
Police sources said that there had been a little quarrel between the husband and wife over a petty domestic issue last evening. The woman during night used her ‘Dupatta’ to make noose and hanged self from the ceiling fan. The family came to know about the matter and rushed her to hospital where doctors declared her as dead. The body was sent for postmortem. The couple was married in 2007 and they have two children.
SSP, Poonch J S Johar said that a Medical Board was conducted on the request of the parents of the girl. She died under mysterious circumstances. The police has started investigation under Section 174 CrPC. The husband of the deceased was detained for questioning. It can not be said at this stage that it was murder. If anything like this will be found, the case will be changed, Johar said.
