Woman dies in Poonch, 67 test +ve in Jammu

JAMMU/SRINAGAR/ LEH, July 29: A woman died of COVID-19 in Poonch district while 67 persons tested positive in Jammu region today, 114 in Kashmir division and six in the Union Territory of Ladakh.
A 65-year-old woman hailing from Poonch, who was co-morbid and positive for the virus, died in the Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu today taking COVID toll in Poonch to 95 and Jammu region to 2141.
Out of 67 fresh cases in the region, 24 were reported from Doda, 13 Rajouri, 10 Kishtwar, seven Reasi, three each in Jammu, Kathua and Poonch, two Udhampur and one each in Ramban and Samba districts.
Sixty six persons today recovered from the virus.
Jammu now has 1,21,659 Corona cases. There are 434 active positives cases as 1,19,084 have recovered from the virus and there have been 2141 casualties.
All six cases in the Union Territory of Ladakh were recorded in Leh district.
Corona count in the UT of Ladakh has reached 20320. However, there are only 64 active positives while 20049 have been treated and there were 2007 casualties in Ladakh including 149 in Leh and 58 in Kargil.
Meanwhile, Kashmir today reported 114 fresh cases of COVID-19.
Those who tested positive include 37 from Srinagar, 19 from Baramulla, 11 from Budgam, 12 from Pulwama, 7 from Kupwara, 8 from Anantnag, 11 from Ganderbal, 8 from Kulgam and 1 from Shopian.
As per officials figures, 71,344 positive cases including 832 deaths and 70,199 recoveries are from Srinagar, 23,595 including 282 deaths and 23,213 recoveries are from Baramulla, 22,879 including 22,610 recoveries and 205 deaths are from Budgam, 15,168 including 14,919 recoveries and 194 deaths are from Pulwama, 14,058 including 165 deaths and 13,853 recoveries are from Kupwara, 16,322 including 16,073 recoveries and 205 deaths are from Anantnag, 9,465 cases including 9,344 and 100 deaths are from Bandipora, 9,889 including 9,764 recoveries and 78 deaths are from Ganderbal, 11,244 including 11,114 recoveries and 117 deaths are from Kulgam and 5,584 including 5,513 recoveries and 58 deaths are from Shopian.
The number of cases in Kashmir division has reached 199,548 including 196,602 recoveries and 2,236 deaths.
The number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 1,144 including 710 from Kashmir division.
With 175 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached 315,686 which is 98.28 percent of the total cases.
