JAMMU, Mar 9: A woman today allegedly made an abortive attempt on her life by consuming some poisonous substance at her residence in Akhnoor area of city outskirts.
According to a police spokesman, the woman identified as Pushpa Devi (45) wife of Deewan Chand, resident of Sungal (Akhnoor), today consumed some poisonous substance following which she was rushed to Sub District Hospital, Akhnoor, from where she was later referred to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu.
He said it was not immediately known why the woman took this extreme step but the concerned police had taken cognizance of the matter.
