JAMMU, May 25: A young woman was brutally murdered by her husband in Khour tehsil of Jammu district.
According to a police spokesman, a woman identified as Geeta Devi (30) wife of Ravinder Kumar, resident of village Pinyali in tehsil Khour, was brutally murdered by her husband by cutting her throat with a sharp edged weapon.
The spokesman said that crime was done by the accused during the intervening night of May 24 and 25 when the woman was sleeping at her residence. The matter came to light in the morning, following which police and forensic teams reached the spot and shifted the body of the deceased woman to Government Primary Health Centre, Pallanwala, where after conducting post mortem by a board of doctors, the body was handed over to its legal heirs for last rites.
“The Khour police had registered a case under Section 302 CrPC against the accused and arrested him from forest area after hectic efforts, as he was on run after committing the crime”, he said, adding weapon of offence was also recovered from the spot.
