Woman arrested for killing husband

RAMBAN, May 17: Chanderkote police today solved a blind murder case by arresting a woman, who had killed her husband by poisoning him.
As per police sources, on May 15 this year, a reliable information was received at Police Station Chanderkote that a nomad namely Mohammad Rashid alias Nika, son of Kalu Bakerwal of Alasdhar district Anantnag, who was staying at Marh Gali Sawani along with his family for grazing cattle has been murdered by some unknown person at Marh Gali forest and his dead body was dumped in the forest area.
Acting over the information, a team from Police Station Chanderkote rushed to the spot and during search, found the dead body and shifted it to District Hospital Ramban for autopsy.
Accordingly a case under FIR Number 32/19 under Section 302 RPC was registered at Police Station Chanderkote and investigation started.
During preliminary investigation, wife of the deceased namely Razia Begum alias Guggi was put to sustained interrogation who confessed that she killed her husband by poisoning him.
Further investigation into the case is in progress and role of other persons in the crime is being investigated.
Police team led by SHO Chanderkote Inspector Abid Hussain Bhukhari solved the murder case and arrested the accused under the supervision of Additional SP Ramban Sanjay Parihar and SSP Ramban Anita Sharma.
