Woman among two die of COVID in Doda, 145 test +ve in J&K

7 new cases in Ladakh

JAMMU/SRINAGAR/ LEH, Sept 21: Two persons including a woman died of COVID-19 in Doda district while 24 others tested positive in the Jammu region today. In Kashmir, 121 fresh cases were reported.
The Union Territory of Ladakh registered seven fresh cases of infection.
A 70-year-old woman hailing from Thathri in Doda district died of COVID-19 in the Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu while a 90-year-old man from Melani Bhaderwah in the same district succumbed to the virus in the GMC Doda.
With two fatalities, Corona toll in the region has gone up to 2172 and that of Doda district1 to 33.
Among 24 cases reported from Jammu region, six each were registered in Jammu and Udhampur districts, four in Doda, three Kishtwar, two Ramban and one each in Poonch, Samba and Rajouri districts while Reasi and Kathua didn’t report any fresh cases.
Kathua district is presently free of Coronavirus with no active positive cases.
Thirty persons today recovered from the virus in the Jammu region.
Jammu region now has 1,23,515 Corona cases. Among them, 218 are active positives while 1,21,125 have recovered from the virus and there have been 2172 casualties.
The UT of Ladakh today recorded seven new COVID positive cases—six in Leh and one in Kargil district.
Ladakh now has 138 active positive cases including 134 in Leh and four in Kargil.
Meanwhile, Kashmir today reported 121 fresh cases of COVID-19
Those who tested positive include 56 from Srinagar, 13 from Baramulla, 19 from Budgam, 5 from Pulwama, 5 from Kupwara, 4 from Anantnag, 5 from Bandipora, 13 from Ganderbal and 1 from Kulgam.
The number of cases in Kashmir division has reached 204,699 including 201,220 recoveries and 2,247 deaths.
The number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 1,450 including 1,232 from Kashmir division.
With 154 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached 322,345, which is 98.21 percent of the total cases.
