5 RTO officials test +ve

JAMMU, Nov 3: Four more persons including a woman died of COVID-19 in Jammu region today-one each in Jammu, Doda, Ramban and Rajouri districts taking death toll beyond 500 while 195 persons tested positive and 275 recovered from the virus.
Five officials in RTO Jammu office have tested positive for pathogen after which the office was shut for public dealing on November 3 and 4.
An 80-year-old man from Bakshi Nagar in Jammu died of co-morbidities and Coronavirus in the Government Medical College Jammu just two days after hospitalization, GMC Superintendent Dr Dara Singh said.
A 65-year-old man from village Badhoon in Rajouri district died of multiple ailments and COVID in the GMC Jammu after remaining in the hospital for 26 days.
An 80-year-old man from Karol in Ramban district was brought dead to the District Hospital Ramban from his house. He was Corona positive.
A 72-year-old woman from Kahara Thathri in Doda district died in the GMC Doda. She was co-morbid and positive for the virus and remained admitted in the hospital for six days.
With four deaths today, Jammu region’s Corona toll crossed 500 to stand at 503.
The maximum 260 deaths have been reported in Jammu district followed by 48 Rajouri, 47 Doda, 32 Udhampur, 31 Kathua, 25 Samba, 22 Poonch, 15 each Kishtwar and Ramban districts and eight in Reasi district.
Among 195 persons who reported positive for COVID-19 in Jammu region, 106 belonged to Jammu district and all but one of them were locals.
Rest of the cases include 23 in Kishtwar, 13 Udhampur, 11 Kathua, 10 Rajouri, eight each Samba and Reasi, seven Doda, six Poonch and three in Ramban district.
Of 275 persons who recovered from the virus today in Jammu region, 118 hailed from Jammu district followed by 55 Samba, 34 Poonch, 27 Doda, 18 Ramban, 13 Kathua, four Udhampur and three each in Kishtwar and Rajouri districts. No recoveries were reported from Reasi district.
Jammu region now has 38289 Corona cases. Of them, 1621 are active positives while 36165 have recovered from the virus and there have been 503 casualties in the region.
