JAMMU, Nov 11: PDP patron and former Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed today declared that winds of change are blowing in every nook and corner of Jammu and Kashmir and only way forward for the State is to elect strong, stable and effective Government in the State.
“People for yearning for change. They have seen the worst ever regime. The PDP has become first choice of the people as it symbolized sincerity, hope, optimism, vision and deep commitment to equality and justice,” Sayeed said addressing a massive public meeting in Anantnag today.
Mufti said the only way forward for the people of Jammu and Kashmir is to choose a Government that had commitment and seriousness to face-up to the challenges confronting the State.
Calling upon the electorates to give decisive mandate to the PDP in the coming Assembly elections for better governance, the PDP leader said the party will change destiny of the people and take the State to path of development. He said due to its serious approach and good governance given during 2002, the PDP has today become first choice of the people.
“Give my party a decisive mandate in the upcoming Assembly elections and I assure you that with the help of God the new Government headed by PDP would mark a dawn of new hope for the State,” Mufti told a rally.
The former Chief Minister said the party will transform the State politically and on developmental front. “There will be decisive forward movement on political, economic and developmental fronts transforming Jammu and Kashmir into a politically stable and economically prosperous State”, he said.
Mufti said his party will end the miseries of the people of the State. “My sole objective is to end the pain and miseries of the people of Jammu and Kashmir once for all and provide them a Government that strives for their larger political empowerment and inclusive prosperity,” he said.
Mufti said if elected his Government will revive and speed up political and developmental initiatives which he started in 2002. “My Government would not only strive for the dignified resolution of the Kashmir issue, but would, as well, seek holistic solution of the politico-economic issues confronting Jammu and Kashmir,” he said. He said that his Government’s priority would be to address the development deficit in crucial sectors including power, education, health, road communication, social security and employment generation.
While speaking on the occasion, PDP President, Mehbooba Mufti said having suffered terribly during the past six years under NC-Congress regime, the people feel that they have had enough of it and want change.
Mehbooba told reporters on the sidelines of the rally that NC is making issue out of former SSP Srinagar Ashiq Bukhari. “NC has no issue and they are raising this issue. When these Task Force people were working under Mufti Sahib there were no human rights violations and when they were working under Omar Sahib and Farooq how many violations took place”, she added.
The PDP president accused NC of being power hungry and said that they can go to any extent for power. “Since 1947, whatever step the NC has taken, it has taken for power. When they are in power they raise pro-India slogans and when out of power they raise pro-Pakistan slogans. The NC can go to any extent. They have been part of BJP in past. Omar Sahib actively opposed Modi during Parliamentary elections and he went to the extent that if Modi becomes he will flee to Pakistan and Farooq Sahib said that those who vote for BJP they should be drowned in Chenab river. Today they are trying to hob nob with the BJP”, he added.
Mehbooba said that her party will get 45-50 seats and will form Government on its own.
