JAMMU, Nov 11: Maintaining that Article 370 is an ideological issue for Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Party has clear stand on the same, Minister in PMO and In charge of North Eastern States, Dr Jitendra Singh however said that his Party is entering into the poll fray in the State with the agenda of good governance, clean administration and corruption free Government.
Talking to reporters here today at the sidelines of inauguration of BJP Media Office at Gandhi Nagar, Dr Singh said that giving State a corruption free and a model of good Government will be the main poll plank of the Party in these elections.
He said BJP is entering with developmental module in these elections and hope that on the performance of Party at Centre and other States ruled by it, people in J&K will definitely vote for BJP in the State in the ensuing Assembly poll as Party is getting an overwhelming response from the masses everywhere.
He said the elections in Goa, MP and Chhattisgarh have exploded myth about anti incumbency factor and in MP party won by a record 75 percent mandate and it was a third consecutive massive win for the Party in that State. The people of the country negated the false propaganda against the Party and they voted for BJP on the basis of its performance, he added.
Dr Singh said that BJP is not an untouchable for minorities and they feel more secure in BJP rule. He said the minorities have also openly made clear that they are secure under BJP rule. Even the Muslims have also come closer to BJP now and have no hesitation in voting for the Party which believes in equal development and upliftment of all regions and communities, he added.
He said the BJP in recent elections got overwhelming vote by other communities as well. He termed the fulfilment of promise by the Party with the Sikh victims of 1984 riots its commitment towards the welfare of all sections of society.
Exuding confidence that Party will perform well in the Assembly elections in the State, Dr Singh said a large number of people in Valley are joining the Party as they are highly impressed by its development module. A large number of Muslim community youth in Kashmir Valley are feeling attracted by BJP, he added.
He said the BJP has become so popular in Kashmir Valley that three to four candidates in every Constituency approach Party for its ticket. The people scared by militant threats are ready to join BJP. Muslims in Valley are highly appreciable for the unprecedented flood relief and rescue operations launched by Centre under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi, he added.
Dr Singh said one of the major reasons for Party’s popularity in the State is that people from all sections of society especially youth and that too in Kashmir Valley feel that BJP is the only party which is providing equal opportunity to all for progress and growth. The Party is free from nepotism and it is not controlled by any dynasty, he added.
He said the BJP is only party which practices inner democracy and gives equal opportunity to everyone.
Dr Singh however refused to comment on Party’s post poll alliance in the State when his attention was drawn towards Sajjad Lone’s yesterday meeting with PM.
Dr Singh said that he has adopted Sangwali village in Hiranagar tehsil of his Constituency under Adarash Gram Yojna of PM and said that village Saddal in Panjar will also be developed for which DC Udhampur has been appointed as Nodal officer.
Dr Singh who was given charge of North Eastern States by PM said development of this region is the top priority of Narendra Modi Government. He said the region was ignored constantly and PM is concentrating on its development so that people do not feel ignored.
Restoring confidence of these people by paying total attention to it will be my top priority, he added. BJP Legislative Party leader Ashok Khajuria, Party (Org) general secretary, Ashok Koul, former president Shamsher Singh Manhas, Chander Mohan Sharma and other senior Party leaders including its Jammu East Assembly Segment candidate Rajesh Gupta, Incharge BJP Media Cell Arun Gupta, Party spokesman Balbir Ram Rattan were among others who were present on the occasion.
