Srinagar, Nov 27: Hinting about the possibility of post-poll alliance in Jammu and Kashmir, Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) today said some political parties would extend their support to the party to form the next Government in the State.
BJP General Secretary Ram Madhav while talking to reporters here said:”We are sure that we will form the Government of our own. In case we fall short of majority, then we will take support from our friends to form the next Government in the State.”
The BJP has set up its target of winning over 44+ seats. However, Madhav’s statement about the post-poll alliance with some parties hinted that BJP may not accomplish its dream of “Mission 44”.
Madhav said majority of political parties in J&K are mostly run by dynastic rulers. He said that they lack the proper policy for the development of the State. “We want to build J&K jointly with people here so that we can bring peace and prosperity to the State.”
Criticizing main political parties of the State including NC, Congress and the PDP, the BJP leader said: “They have nothing new to offer and lack vision for development of the State.”
Terming NC’s manifesto a “carbon copy” of its previous manifesto, the BJP General Secretary said: “This big party has repeated the manifesto of 2008 Assembly elections. They have failed to deliver what they had promised in 2008.”
Madhav said Article 370 is not in the party’s vision document. “Our primary focus is development of the State to get rid people from the poverty”, he added.
“Modi has a vision for the development of JK. That is the reason that party released vision document instead of manifesto,” Madhav said.
On party’s vision document, the BJP leader said:”Our focus will be job creation, development of industries, building JK as major high tech cities and turn Srinagar into a tourist city.” He said it has been mentioned in the vision document that every citizen of the State would be equal partner for the development of the State. He said Modi will make the development of the State with support of the people of JK.
Madhav said Modi has a slogan “Make in India” for better prospects of life and avenues for higher revenue generation for every individual. “Modi is committed to introduce a quality higher education including medical and engineering so that students do not need to move outside. So I appeal you to help BJP to strengthen its base in the State. It would be only possible when dynastic and corrupt rulers are wiped out from the State”, he added.
He asserted that “cycle of loot” would continue if people won’t opt for change. “Loot cycle is going on and it has been changing after every six years since decades. To end the loot cycle, we need the support of people so that we can deliver better governance in the State”, he added.
The BJP leader said the political parties are only seeking rehabilitation to the flood victims for their political gains. “Had flood hit after the elections, nobody would have been talking about the flood victims”, he added.
