JAMMU, May 14: Former Forest Minister and senior BJP leader, Ch Lal Singh today declared that he will not rest and continue his struggle till the prestige of Dogras of Jammu who have been dubbed as rapists by a section of media on Rassana kidnapping and murder case will be restored.
Talking to reporters here, today along with members of Coordination Committee, Singh said that it is unfortunate that the valiant Dogras of Jammu have been dubbed as rapists and their image has been tarnished at national and international level by certain vested elements and some Kashmir centric leaders.

He said with the support and cooperation of Coordination Committee, he has taken an onus to wash out allegation and restore the prestige and pride of Dogras who are most peace loving and patriotic people.
Making a scathing attack on Kashmiri leaders for saying that Jammu has no leader, Singh said that Jammu has a good number of leaders and these are the leaders of Jammu who visit every village, every mohalla and let the Kashmiri leaders dare to visit in the same way in villages and Mohallas of Kashmir valley. “Let them visit militancy infested districts of Shopian and Pulwama”, he added.
Lal Singh, while making an appeal to media to support the cause of Jammu made a dig at the Valley media and a section of national media who totally projected a wrong picture of Rassana incident to tarnish the image of Dogras under a well planned conspiracy.
Justifying the struggle launched by Coordination Committee demanding CBI probe into Rassana incident, he said that vested interests tried to communalize the issue through manipulations. They described that a Muslim, a Bakerwal girl was murdered but these were the people of Jammu who said she was the daughter of Jammu and they demand justice for her which is only possible by ordering a CBI probe into the matter, he added.
He, without naming CM and others said those who opposed CBI probe should be asked when they ordered three probes earlier first through police followed by SIT and then by Crime Branch what was the harm in ordering the CBI probe also when the CB investigation has many discrepancies and many fingers were raised on it.
Lambasting those who opposed CBI probe this time reminded them that in 2009 Shopian incident when the dead bodies of two ladies who happened to be sister in-laws were fished out from Shopina river, the CB had indicted then SP and ASP Shopian and they were put in judicial custody but at that time the two parties of Kashmir demanded CBI probe and in that probe both SP as well as ASP Shopian were exonerated.
When holding of CBI probe was right at that time why it is not at present when people of entire Jammu region demand the same.
Lal Singh said that Dogras image has been tarnished who had earned name as great warriors and have never shown back in any battle field. “There seems to be a conspiracy in it,. I have received many phone calls from members of the community settled abroad that they feel insulted as a bad label has been attached to the community and how can it be tolerated”, he added.
Lal Singh said that Dogras are peace loving and they gave refuge to people who migrated to this place. “No one has been harmed by us here instead we gave them love and respect,. But at the same time we will not let any one to tarnish our image”, he added.
The former Minister appealed the media to support the cause and asked the people to make the May 20 peaceful rally at Hiranagar a success which will be simultaneously started from Lakhanpur in Kathua and from Jammu.
He said one side of the NH tube will be used by rallyists while from other tube traffic will run smoothly.
