Wife, paramour arrested in blind murder case of retd army jawan

JAMMU, May 14: Akhnoor Police solved a blind murder case of a retired army jawan with the arrested of his wife and her paramour.
As per police sources, On May 2 this year, an information was received at Police Station Akhnoor that a retired army jawan identified as Chanchal Singh of Nardiwala has allegedly committed suicide by consuming some poisonous substance.
Acting over the information, police team rushed to the spot and shifted the body to hospital for autopsy.
After completing medical and legal formalities, the body of the deceased was handed over to legal heirs for last rites.
In this regard, inquest proceeding under section 174 CrPC was initiated by Akhnoor Police, police sources informed.
During the course of investigation, a police team headed by SDPO Akhnoor Ajay Sharma along with SHO Akhnoor Inspector Pardeep Sharma got suspicious over the alleged suicide by the army jawan and started questioning of several persons including wife of the deceased.
During questioned, it came to fore that the retired army jawan was murdered by allegedly administering some poisonous substance, sources said.
Going ahead with the investigation, police team finally arrested a man identified as Rakesh Kumar alias Bitta (a wrestler by profession) along with the wife of the deceased as their names surfaced behind the murder of the retired army jawan during investigation, sources said, adding that the Bitta and the wife of the deceased were having illicit relations and this could might be the reason behind the murder of the retired army jawan.
Further investigation into the case is going on.
