Widening of Janipur-Ambphalla road

JanipurAmbphalla and Janipur High Court Roads are becoming day in and day out choked with the traffic congestion resulting in the movement of traffic getting hampered and causing of long road jams besides air and noise pollution which could only be addressed by widening of this road length. The urgency of the issue hardly needs any special emphasis .In this connection, however, Division Bench comprising Chief Justice Gita Mittal and Justice AlokAradhe has granted two weeks time to the State Government for filing compliance report in respect of widening of the road length under reference.
The mess and the resultant traffic confusion beyond any ordinary management dexterity under present volume of traffic especially during peak morning and evening hours on JanipurAmbphalla and Janipur High Court Road, have resulted in filing of a Public Interest Litigation and while it came up for hearing, the senior AAG appearing for the Government sought time for filing compliance report in terms of earlier orders. While the proposal is reported to have been submitted by the PWD to the Planning Department in December 2017, now only the money has got to be released by the Planning and the Finance Departments, is what the Division Bench has recently observed. In other words, the absence of the backing of the requisite funds is perhaps the only cause delaying the project of much needed widening of the road length under consideration. It is only hoped and directed by the Bench too that any further delay must be avoided in the matter.
