Whither NC

Sir,
This has  a reference to B L Saraf’s write-up “Whither NC”. The learned writer has methodically and honestly shown NC its place because of the blunders committed one after the other. Reminding them the historical episode of 2nd July 1984 when GM Shah took over the reins of administration.  However the writer has attached inportance to Sheikh Abdullah for “changing sectarian creed to secular one” which according to the writter has been proved totally incorrect by the activities of the Sheikh. There was no ideological equation between Nehru and Sheikh except politics. That is the reason the  Sheikh was sacked and imprisoned in 1953. He knew accession to Pakistan means inviting trouble to respect and personality. He was sure to maintain monoply on the Indian administration. The Sheikh was a worst victim of ‘ego’,  and was intolerant to political or personal criticism.
The writer has genuinely highlighted the negative role of Omar Abdullah in opposition and contrary to his known stand when in power. They from generation to generation have been playing same political gimmicks to exploit people for their vested interests. In 1987 after rigging elections, they lost the faith and trust of the masses. The Centre on the behest of NC turned down the public demands against rigged elections of 1987. Result? we are suffering today.
Yours etc….
