JAMMU, June 1: The White Knight Corps today celebrated its 43rd Raising Day.
In special order of the day, Lieutenant General KH Singh, Corps Commander, White Knight Corps, complimented all ranks on their outstanding contribution in combating militancy and assisting the civil administration in regaining normalcy in the region.
He exhorted all troops to persist with same zeal and enthusiasm towards their profession to achieve new milestones. A solemn wreath laying ceremony was conducted with full military honours. Maj Gen BK Guha, Chief of Staff, White Knight Corps on behalf of the Corps Commander paid floral tributes to the martyrs at “Ashwamedh Shaurya Sthal” in the early hours of the day.
Chief of Staff later on interacted with the officers of Nagrota Garrison. A special Sainik Sammelan and Barakhana were also organized for the serving troops and their families of Nagrota Military Station.
To commemorate the occasion, a number of events were organized at Nagrota garrison. An exemplary display of performance was seen during the horse and dog show organized on 31 June 2015, for the families of the soldiers of the White Knight Corps. The event was also marked by the graceful and patriotic tunes played by the military band.
The Corps is operationally committed in pursuit of guarding and maintaining the sanctity of the Line of Control and combating militancy, which has resulted in restoring normalcy in the region. It is also actively involved in various developmental programmes aimed at improving the living condition and overall development of the general region and the Awam.
