Wheat strengthens on tight supply

NEW DELHI, June 11:  Wheat prices rose further by Rs 10 per quintal at the wholesale grains market today on tight stocks following fall in supplies from producing regions against increased offtake by flour mills.
Maize also went up on pick up in demand from consuming industries.
Traders said tight stocks position on fall in supplies from growing belts against increased offtake by flour mills mainly kept wheat prices higher.
In the national capital, wheat dara (for mills) rose further by Rs 10 to Rs 1,785-1,790 per quintal. Atta chakki delivery followed suit and enquired higher by a similar margin to Rs 1,795-1,800 per 90 kg.
Other bold grains like, maize also gained Rs 10 to Rs 1,480-1,490 per quintal respectively.
