Wheat strengthens on increased offtake by flour mills

NEW DELHI, Sept 12:  Wheat prices were up by Rs 15 per quintal at the wholesale grain market today owing to increased offtake by flour mills amid decline in arrivals from producing belts.
Traders said besides increased offtake by flour mills to meet rising demand, fall in supplies from producing regions kept wheat prices higher.
In the national capital, wheat dara (for mills) rose further by Rs 15 to Rs 1,640-1,645 per quintal. Atta chakki delivery followed suit and traded higher by a similar margin to Rs 1,650-1,655 per 90 kg.
Maida and sooji were up by Rs 5 each  to Rs 960-965 and Rs 1,045-1,055 per 50 kg respectively. Sooji also moved up by Rs 10 to Rs 1,050-1,060 per 50 kg.
