SAMBA, Apr 23: The wheat crop on 50 kanals of land was destroyed in the wild fire that engulfed the wheat fields in two separate fire incidents caused due to short circuit in Ramgarh area today.
According to reports wheat crop spreading over 17 kanals of land was completely destroyed in the fire that broke out due to short circuit of HT lines in village Soanka near Baba Sidhgoria in Ramgarh Sector today.
The land belonged to Satpaul, Gurdev Singh, Ram Paul, Janak Raj and Bindra. The fire tenders from were pressed into service to control the fire and spreading it to other fields.
In another fire incident caused due to short circuit the wheat crop spreading over 18 kanals of land in Pakri Ramgarh belonging to Sukh Dev Singh and on 12 kanals belonging to Hardeep Singh were also destroyed in the fire.
