What causes fears?

Mohanji
Expectations cause fear. We expect certain things to move in certain ways, or we expect our lives to take certain shapes. See, let me tell you, society creates machines. What has society created? A person – a child is born completely pure, completely fresh, open to the world. Then what happens to the child? Education – conditioning starts there. Then a job, then marriage, children, a house, death. This is what society says is a good life. You know, he’s a great guy; he had his life. What life?
Most people do nothing in life. They are just born. They’ll get educated; they get a job; they get a family, and then a house. Some people make more money; some people make less money. Whatever it is, this pattern is what we call a good life. Fear is connected to this pattern.
If I don’t go this way, what’ll society think about me? How will society take me? Then comes a situation where I’ve to do these things. The “I” starts there. The I factor, the ownership factor – it gives you fears. Oh, I couldn’t complete it; then comes regret and guilt. Sin, for example – all these things are created by society.
When you understand that you are an individual, a totally fresh, new individual, born to experience life, not to experience cages, society creates many cages. And sometimes, we are really proud of these cages, just like a prisoner is proud of his prison cell. We are very happy to be in cages, and we boast about it.
Ignorance
Fears come from ignorance. First of all, the first point is you are born, and you’ve to die. Whether you like it or not, someday, you exit, so it’s an inevitability. Why do we fear it? Why do we fear it is because of social relations and connections, right?
Experience each relation fully every day. Start with wondering about each relationship, family members, and social relationships; experience this totally. So, no regret, no guilt. I experienced every relationship at the time given to me. This time will not come again. Tomorrow is another day, another time. This time now is your experience. And that has to be experienced now, for which you need to be here.
The mind should be present. You will look, but if the mind is not with your eyes, you don’t see. You can listen, but if the mind is not with your ears, you never hear things. The mind has to be present in the present. Discard the past; discard the regrets; discard the guilt. Focus on here. And if you almost always are with every activity, whether it’s happiness or sorrow, see, happiness or sorrow is not the problem here. Our perception of them is the problem. Life is about happiness and sorrow. It’s not only happiness. It’ll never happen that way. But our perception of this is the problem. Accept them, and you will not have fears.
Accept situations
Every situation you accept, any possibility you accept, and the fears will go; fears will not exist. This is how you can overcome fears. Fears can be overcome through awareness only – by being aware. I’m a complete creation. I’m unique. I’m neither higher nor lower nor equal to people – anybody. I’m unique. I’m not made to be another brick on the wall.
Start living like that, and you’ll feel extraordinary freedom. And with that freedom will come creativity, completion, fulfilment, and probably you don’t need another life for this. Otherwise, we are just going through patterns in every life. I hope it’s clear.
