WEWU observes strike in support of demands

JAMMU, Oct 12: All J&K Wild Life Employees and Workers’ Union, Jammu Province today observed general strike to press the Government to fulfill their long pending demands.
Addressing the protesting non-gazetted employees of the department, president of the Union, Noor Mohd, said that they put their demands many times before the concerned authorities but got only hollow assurances.
Reiterating their demands which include regularization of casual labours and consolidated workers, conducting DPC meeting of all categories from Class IV to Assistant Wildlife Warden, creation of posts, risk allowance of two and a half days, change of designation of Helpers, charge allowance of all categories and framing a transparent transfer policy, the speakers urged the Government to resolve their genuine demands at the earliest.
Others who spoke on the occasion were State vice-president, Vijay Singh and general secretary for Jammu province, Rishi Paul.
