Week-long celebrations of Kal Bharav Ashtami conclude

JAMMU, Nov 30: The week-long programmes to celebrate Kal Bharav Ashtami at ancient Kal Bharav temple in Dhontly Bazar here in the heart of old Jammu city concluded today in a spiritual atmosphere.
There was a huge rush of devotees which started thronging the temple right from the wee hours and remained there till late evening hours.
The entire market was beautifully decorated with red flags of Kal Bharav temple at all the shops.
There were traffic restrictions at the temple road and a tight security arrangement was put in place by the police department to thwart any untoward incident.
Municipal authorities have also pressed into service their Safaikaramcharis to maintain cleanliness near the temple area.
Many volunteers have also installed stalls of eatables where children relished their favourite ice-creams, chocolates etc.
Serpentine queues of devotees were there throughout the day to pay obeisance to the deity and seek blessings.
Pandit Rumil Sharma-head priest of the temple performed special rituals for peace, prosperity and welfare of the mankind.
Speaking on the occasion he said that Kal Bharav is the Rudra incarnation of Lord Shiva and is adored in prayers and temples across the country.
He also informed that the ancient temple holds special importance as many devotees are blessed here to lead a successful life without miseries.
The celebrations had earlier started on Nov 25 wherein Prabhat Pheri, bike rally, congregation among other programmes were held apart from Bhandara.
The temple was beautifully decorated with flower, special lights, laser lights etc.
