Webinar titled “Mastering the Art of Emotional Intelligence” organized

JAMMU, Sept 18: Under its Motivational Training initiative, J&K Innovative Foundation for Transforming Society (JKIFTS) today organized a webinar titled “Mastering The Art of Emotional Intelligence”.
The webinar was moderated by Dr Tasaduk Hussain Itoo (medico, educator cum noted columnist), convened by Dr Abrar Ul Haq Wani (junior scientist cum researcher) and coordinated by Muhammad Taha Fayaz Shah (Foundation member). The speakers on the occasion were Wasim Rashid Kakroo (Kashmir-based clinical psychologist, mental health columnist cum researcher) and Dr Nikhil Gupta (Jammu-based Psychiatrist cum Mind Wellness Expert).
While inaugurating the session, Dr Tasaduk Hussain Itoo said that the subject of Emotional Intelligence is an important aspect of Personal Development and is crucial to learn by everyone to deal with their emotions positively into their day to day life.
It was followed by a detailed presentation by Chief Speaker Wasim Rashid Kakroo, wherein he highlighted the important components of Emotional Intelligence like Self Awareness, Self Regulation, Motivation, Empathy, Social skills including child psychology and the role of effective parenting in managing emotions of their children.
Kakroo talked about the importance of developing Emotional Intelligence and its application in dealing with emotional difficulties faced in daily life, besides highlighting the ways of building Emotional Intelligence.
Dr Nikhil Gupta, while speaking on the occasion, highlighted the clinical and biological aspects of Emotional Intelligence and put brief emphasis on its role in leadership. He added that mental health disorders like anxiety and depression are very common and are due to poor regulation of one’s emotions.
Each talk of the program was followed by a Question & Answer session, wherein the participants asked various questions that were answered by the respected speakers.
The program concluded with vote of thanks presented by Dr Itoo.
