SRINAGAR, Nov 25: The Women’s Employment Association, a new platform to support and empower working women, was launched in Srinagar today to address workplace inequality and promote women’s rights, career growth, and safety.
The association was formally launched under the chairpersonship of Dr. Nazia Bhat, accompanied by other party members. The organisers described the initiative as “a strong platform for women to work, rise, and bring meaningful change in society.”
Speaking at the launch, Dr. Bhat outlined the mission of the association. “This platform has been established to empower women, secure their future, and ensure they achieve greater heights with dignity and applause,” she said. She added, “Every woman deserves equal opportunities, respect, and a safe environment at the workplace.”
The Association expressed concern over discrimination and harassment faced by working women. Dr. Bhat said, “We are deeply concerned about the persistent challenges women face at their workplaces. The Women’s Employment Association will provide full support in addressing grievances and ensure justice and fair treatment for all.”
Along with advocating for workplace rights, the platform will run community development programmes, socio-political awareness campaigns, and skill-enhancement initiatives. Announcing upcoming activities, the organisers said, “To build confidence and safety, self-defense camps and practical training sessions will be conducted soon.”
