With the onset of monsoon in Jammu, starts the problem of water-logging in many low lying areas of the Jammu city.
The moment rains lash this part of the city, the whole area turns into a water body causing traffic jams which last for hours together. The water-logging is a perennial problem in this area. This is largely caused due to choked lanes and by-lanes.
What aggravates the problem is insufficient space of drains to allow huge volume of water to pass through them, and non-removal of garbage deposits from these lanes periodically. The Jammu Municipal Corporation which is already aware of the situation, should have taken some measures before the monsoon season. A permanant solution to this grave problem should be found, so that the residents of the this area do not suffer.
