Water crisis in Upper Shiv Nagar

Excelsior Correspondent
JAMMU, May 23: The inhabitants of mohalla Upper Shiv Nagar (Jammu) have been facing severe water crisis since April 2013 due to irregular and inadequate water supply from Rajpura Pumping and Distribution Station (RPDS).
Though there are two sources of water supply to RPDS, still the RPDS is facing a huge deficiency of water amounting to over 7 lakh gallons of water per day, which is adversely affecting daily distribution of water amongst water consumers of the area, said president of the Mohalla Welfare Committee, Upper Shiv Nagar.
The inhabitants appealed the PHE Minister and the concerned Chief Engineer PHE to explore ways and means to make up the deficiency of water in RPDS, and thus alleviate their water related problems.
